Ever since I was just a young teenager, I always dreamt of owning an AR-15/M4. If all goes well this summer, I will be able to buy this carbine. I don't know if I can even shoot it for some time, but it doesn't matter. I'd just love to have one.
I'm not exactly sure how to describe myself politically except that I'm basically left-leaning. I understand that this blog is based on an oxymoron... but I can't explain it. I want the right to own and legally use firearms. So, this is where I can talk about it.

I've run into a couple of problems. The first and foremost is covered in my May 16th post regarding the legality of storing an AR-15 in NJ. The other is that I'm not exactly sure what models the gun shop I'm going to has in stock. I have my eyes on a couple of different models, but I don't want to get my hopes up until I know what's available. I'm comfortable with the Bushmaster brand and a good number of their firearms. I don't want a fluted barrel, an A2 receiver, or a permamently mounted muzzle. Other than that, I'm pretty flexible. I'd prefer an A3 removable carrying handle, a standard pistol grip, a collapsible stock, and a heavy duty barrel. Ultimately 20-30 round magazines should do me fine. Now I gotta just keep my fingers crossed.
I found a great article about the ideal rifle: AR-15. It just get's me jazzed about owning my own black gun.
