Now, they've told us what kinds of bags we can and can't use. I am so sick of them. Does anyone really feel safer in an airport or on a plane because of the TSA?
I'm not exactly sure how to describe myself politically except that I'm basically left-leaning. I understand that this blog is based on an oxymoron... but I can't explain it. I want the right to own and legally use firearms. So, this is where I can talk about it.

I found an interesting story here:
http://www.keepandbeararms.com/newsarchives/XcNewsPlus.asp?cmd=view&articleid=2595
The article talks about an airline pilot, William Bonnell, and how in July, 1954, he chose to save his plane and 54 passengers from a young wood-be hijacker. The results of his actions are very interesting:
1. He never fired a gun again.
2. Since he was the only pilot available, he still flew the scheduled return flight from Cleveland to Fort Worth.
3. The family of the hijacker was planning no funeral. Mr. Bonnell paid for the funeral and burial of the would be hijacker.
Perhaps it is time to step back from the insanity of the TSA and ask a couple of questions:
1. In the days before passenger screening, etc., would it have been possible to take over an aircraft with a few box cutters had law abiding citizens been afforded their second amendment rights?
2. There was a time that pilots were armed. Why isn't that a good idea today?
3. How long will we continue to put up with the nanny government trying to protect from all hazards, real or imagined? I mean really; since a single guy tried to hide a bomb in his shoe, we now have to have all our shoes screened? How many times since has a person tried the same trick?
Thanks for allowing me to vent. I enjoy your site.
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the article. I enjoyed reading it. I had heard about that incident before, but it was great to get more of the details - because that's what it's really all about.
How many other details are left out by gun-hating media, I wonder.
I don't suspect that one day, some anti-American will just pass legislation that will take our guns and other freedoms away, they'll do it over the course of a long period of time.
Thanks for your thoughts.
